My All Time Favorite Gardening Magazines

Some of the best tips, plant info and great ideas come from the gardening magazines I read. I was telling a friend the other day that one of the ways to increase her knowledge of gardening is to read some good books and magazines. With that in mind, here is a list of the ones that I consider the best.

My absolute favorite is Garden Gate. I have been a subscriber since they published the very first issue. The "Great ideas from smart gardeners"" section is one of the best around. I've gotten some wonderful tips and ideas from those pages.

Another one by the publishers of Garden Gate is Birds & Blooms. It's about birds and flowers that attract them. Always has some good "how to" ideas here too.

Mother Earth News is an oldie but goodie. I have all my dad's copies dating back to the first issues in the 1970's. This one is for you folks who want to garden organically and maybe like me you are money conscious. There are always DIY projects featured and "repurpose" things too.

No gardener should be without a copy of the Old Farmers Almanac. Heck even their Web site is chock full of good information.

Lowe's Home Improvement Store has a nice gardening section on their website and you can download a free app and get ideas in your email box monthly. I have a Lowe's Credit card and I get a nice printed ideas magazine from them each month too.
